I hope your well and coping with the lockdown due to the awful corona virus. It’s tough been inside especially when the weather is finally improving. Please do stick to the rules set out by the government, the more we do, the quicker things will get back to normal. Today should have been Grand National day at Aintree. That’s obviously cancelled but the virtual National takes place at...

It’s testing times for everybody at the moment with the awful Corona virus that’s sweeping the world. All sport is currently cancelled including horse racing until the 1st of May. I hope, yourself, your family and nobody you know has been affected by the virus. Please do keep safe and well. Best regardsJames

A magnificent day for us yesterday, it’s not often you back a horse at 66-1 never mind it winning! Lisnager Oscar looked hugely overpriced in the morning and so it proved with a brilliant win in the Stayers Hurdle. The selection never looked like been out of the places from the word go and was always moving strongly just behind the leaders. Adam Wedge gave the horse a super ride. Previous f...

Evnoi Allen was perhaps the star on day 2 of the Cheltenham Festival. Considered the next coming in Ireland, Envoi Allen delivered in no uncertain terms and looks very very good. Champ came from a different county to pinch the RSA, I thought we had it with Minella Indo and the money was won. The mistake at the last cost us a nice pay out. That’s three horses so far that perhaps should have ...

A very enjoyable day 1 of the Cheltenham Festival. The punting did ok too. Epatante was a very good Champion Hurdle winner. As mentioned on here, if there was a new star to come out of the race it was going to Epatante. She looks very good and has that bit of class about her. The meeting started with the Supreme, the highlighted negative on Asterion Forlonge jumping right was correct, that horse ...

The Cheltenham Festival is upon us, one of the best racing weeks of the year. Thankfully the meeting takes place what with the virus sweeping the world. There will be plenty of Corona at Prestbury Park this week, but most of it will be drank with a slice of lemon! Today’s going will be very testing. I’m told its proper deep ground and stamina will be key this afternoon. The meeting s...

It's very much calm before the storm with the Cheltenham Festival nearly upon us. Today's racing isn't great after Sandown lost the Imperial Cup fixture due to a waterloggged track. The Imperial Cup is a great race and one we were lucky enough to win five years ago with Ebony Express. No Imperial Cup results in no horse running for the £100,000 bonus at Cheltenham which is a shame for the ...

We head to Exeter today with Hugo ‘N Taz who runs in the 2:30. Hugo won on debut for us and should have ran again by now. The last two races he held entries for, were both abandoned due to waterlogged tracks. Hugo steps down in trip this afternoon which might not be ideal. However, we need to get Hugo out again and who knows if racing will be on this time next week? Hopefully the soft grou...

It was very frustrating to lose the Eider Chase last weekend where our very own, Hugo ‘N Taz was the favourite for the £80,000 race. I’m really fed up of the weather now as no doubt everybody is up and down the country. It’s been another awful wet week. As per the last two weekends running, another storm is currently emptying its contents on the country. Newbury has gone ...

If the meeting at Newcastle passes the inspection, we’ll have Hugo ‘N Taz running in the Eider Chase at 2:45. Four Miles one furlong on deep heavy ground, this will be one of the biggest stamina tests of the season. It's likely only half the field will complete if that. Hugo won the Lincolnshire National on debut for us, he stayed 3m4f that day, but today’s race is much greater ...

Another weekend another storm, this time it’s Dennis doing his worst. Wincanton has been abandoned, Ascot and Haydock have passed morning inspections but continue to monitor conditions. It would be no surprise if a further meeting was lost during the day. I’ve been very taken by the efforts of Sam Brown of late trained by Anthony Honeyball. Sam Brown runs this afternoon in the Reynold...

Exciting racing this afternoon from Newbury. Chantry House, Altior and Native River all on the same card whilst on top of that, the Betfair Hurdle. It would be great to see Altior come back to his very best and cement his place as the top two-mile chaser. It seems connections have abandoned the idea of going over further, this looks the correct move. Altior does perhaps have a little bit to prov...

We run Flash De Clerval at Market Rasen this afternoon in the 4:20. Flash moves up in trip by four furlongs, on paper he’s bred to want this distance, but Flash can be a keen in his races. He’ll have to settle quickly today if he’s going to get home on what’s likely going to be sticky ground. It’s a decent little race with Sermando likely to go well. If Flash settle...

A super card of racing from Sandown this afternoon, we head that way with a runner in the feature race of the day at 3:00. The £100,000 Heroes Handicap Hurdle. Broughtons Admiral takes his chance in one of the most competitive handicaps that takes place in the jumps season. It’s a huge step up in class for BA but he’s earned his shot at such a race after the easy win at Hereford...

No time for a preview of todays racing as we have an early runner down at Lingfield. I’ve not had chance to have any bets but Golden Jeffrey EW on debut for David Pipe looks interesting in the 12:20 at Doncaster. The horse is well handicapped if David has turned him around.

We have two runners at Fakenham this afternoon, Irska and Pisgah Pike take their chance. Irska is getting the hang of things, he's a big raw horse but learning all the time. Irska ran his best race for us at Hereford last time out. He won't be seen at his best until jumping a fence but touch wood he keeps progressing. Pisgah Pike makes his hurdles debut in what looks a very warm maiden hurdle. T...
