We had a brilliant evening at Aintree last night, Included won the competitive mares’ race in good style. Included went into the race in very good form, she was bouncing at home and came back into training this season better than ever. Her work had been very good whilst Included was only 90% fit last night, she will tighten up for running. Included jumped and travelled superbly, she had ev...

We have a runner at Aintree today where Madness are playing after racing. It will be a lively night and a grand evening out for owners. Included makes her seasonal debut in the 5:35. This is a decent mares’ race with plenty of in-form and race fit horses lining up. Included will be going chasing after today, this is where her future has always been as she’s bigger than the average mar...

Broughtons Admiral ran another solid race for his owners yesterday finishing 3rd despite finding Market Rasen too sharp and running out of steam in the final furlong. It was Broughtons Admiral eighth start of the season so it’s holiday time now. He’s a bonny horse, ran 13 times in total for us and got his owners in the winner’s enclosure 9 times. He’ll improve again with a ...

We have two runners in the next 24 hours, Broughtons Admiral is the first of these in the 3:20 at Market Rasen this afternoon. Tomorrow, we have Leoncavallo in prestigious Swinton Hurdle. Broughtons Admiral ran a career best race for us at Cheltenham last month, he was an excellent 2nd behind the smart Tobefair who was just beaten at the Festival this year. This is a trappy race, the likes of Go...

We have a runner at Warwick this afternoon in the 5:00, Stubborn Logic takes his chance. Stubborn Logic is new to us and made his debut in our colours at Wincanton a few weeks ago. We didn’t get things right that day but learned a bit about the horse. It’s still a learning process to be honest, we’ve changed a few things at home and we’ll see how we go.

A quick blog today as we've been at Dr Newland's this morning for a stable day. I've not had chance to go through the racing but i'm hearing Al Muffrih, 1:50 Newmarket is expected to run well, priced at 4-1. London Eye, 4:55 Goodwood, odds of 11-10 is better than his rating.

Settimo Milanese won for his owners at Kempton on Wednesday evening. Settimo didn’t do much right during the race but his ability got him through. Our horse didn’t enjoy been out in front and had no idea he was racing until two out. Settimo is ready for a fence now, he should be a smart staying chaser. Loads of racing today, the jumps season last feature meeting takes place at Sandown...

We have a runner at Kempton this evening in the 6:20, Settimo Milanese makes his seasonal debut after holidays. The entire card at Kempton has cut up due to the ground, having a two-runner race isn’t ideal but it’s a starting point for the season ahead. Settimo Milanese will be going chasing shortly, today’s race is a blow the cobwebs away outing whilst the trip will be on the s...

Broughtons Admiral ran a massive race for his owners at Cheltenham on Wednesday, a superb 2nd place in a highly competitive race. Only beaten by Tobefair who was just touched off in the Pertemps Final at the Festival itself. The step up in trip was the key for BA, he found the stride slower pace much to his liking. We now have some lovely options next season. I’ve backed couple of horses at...

We had a super weekend in Ayr with Leoncavallo who ran in the Scottish Champion Hurdle. Leon finished 5th but was only ran out of the places in the last few strides and led the field until close to the final hurdle. Leoncavallo deserved to be in the three but pulled early and this cost him a place. We’ll take the blinkers off next time and maybe head to Punchestown. Excellent racing today,...

The Aintree Grand National meeting finished with Tiger Roll winning the race for the second successive year. It was a brilliant performance, Tiger Roll was always going well and won with plenty in hand. Connections say Tiger Roll will unlikely run in the race next year as he’ll carry 12 stone. The Grand National selections posted on here, finished 3rd 4th & 5th. This topped off a good m...

I think we might have seen the King George winner yesterday in, Lostintranslation. The Colin Tizzard trained runner was super impressive and looks a Gold Cup horse in the making. I loved the way he went through the race and visually quickened when given an inch of rein. The step up in trip was ideal, I wouldn’t put anybody off backing him antepost for the King George and maybe even the Gold ...

The heavy rain spoiled the afternoon for many on the first day of the Grand National meeting. It was a real shame the weather was so awful. I’m told plenty of people we’re leaving early as the bars couldn’t hold anymore and there was nowhere to keep dry. Going conditions have significantly changed, stamina is now key. The weather has also messed up our plans for having a runner o...

The Aintree Grand National meeting starts today, this is my favourite meeting of year from an attendance point of view. There’s so much going off between races, a party atmosphere with great racing on top. Not an easy day for punting, La Bague Au Roi should go close in the opening race but is a short enough odds. Glen Forsa was priced at just 9-2 for the Arkle Chase at Cheltenham, he depart...

The Doncaster Lincoln meeting signals the start of the flat season. This meeting seems to creep up on you each year, a big flat meeting, but then little happens on the level for next three weeks. With Aintree taking place next week, I won’t be focusing much on the level until the Grand National is out of the way. We should have a runner on National day, it’s a brilliant afternoon for ...

We have a runner this afternoon at Hexham in the 2:10. Stung For Cash takes his chance with Charlie Hammond in the saddle. We’ve been very pleased with Stung For Cash so far, he’s a lovely long-term prospect that won’t be seen at his best until jumping a fence, over staying trips on soft ground. Cash already has some nice form. His bumper debut effort has worked out well, he fou...
