If the meeting at Newcastle passes the inspection, we’ll have Hugo ‘N Taz running in the Eider Chase at 2:45. Four Miles one furlong on deep heavy ground, this will be one of the biggest stamina tests of the season. It's likely only half the field will complete if that. Hugo won the Lincolnshire National on debut for us, he stayed 3m4f that day, but today’s race is much greater ...

Another weekend another storm, this time it’s Dennis doing his worst. Wincanton has been abandoned, Ascot and Haydock have passed morning inspections but continue to monitor conditions. It would be no surprise if a further meeting was lost during the day. I’ve been very taken by the efforts of Sam Brown of late trained by Anthony Honeyball. Sam Brown runs this afternoon in the Reynold...

Exciting racing this afternoon from Newbury. Chantry House, Altior and Native River all on the same card whilst on top of that, the Betfair Hurdle. It would be great to see Altior come back to his very best and cement his place as the top two-mile chaser. It seems connections have abandoned the idea of going over further, this looks the correct move. Altior does perhaps have a little bit to prov...

We run Flash De Clerval at Market Rasen this afternoon in the 4:20. Flash moves up in trip by four furlongs, on paper he’s bred to want this distance, but Flash can be a keen in his races. He’ll have to settle quickly today if he’s going to get home on what’s likely going to be sticky ground. It’s a decent little race with Sermando likely to go well. If Flash settle...

A super card of racing from Sandown this afternoon, we head that way with a runner in the feature race of the day at 3:00. The £100,000 Heroes Handicap Hurdle. Broughtons Admiral takes his chance in one of the most competitive handicaps that takes place in the jumps season. It’s a huge step up in class for BA but he’s earned his shot at such a race after the easy win at Hereford...

No time for a preview of todays racing as we have an early runner down at Lingfield. I’ve not had chance to have any bets but Golden Jeffrey EW on debut for David Pipe looks interesting in the 12:20 at Doncaster. The horse is well handicapped if David has turned him around.

We have two runners at Fakenham this afternoon, Irska and Pisgah Pike take their chance. Irska is getting the hang of things, he's a big raw horse but learning all the time. Irska ran his best race for us at Hereford last time out. He won't be seen at his best until jumping a fence but touch wood he keeps progressing. Pisgah Pike makes his hurdles debut in what looks a very warm maiden hurdle. T...

We had a great afternoon at Wolverhampton on Wednesday, Nikolayeva won on debut for us under an outstanding ride from Luke Morris. We claimed Eva 30 days ago for just £5000. She’s a very well-bred mare that’s all stamina as per her pedigree. The step up in trip to 1m2f did the trick, although this distance would be the minimum for her. With the win under her belt, she’s mo...

We’re off to Wolverhampton today with Nikolayeva who makes her debut for us in the 12:55. We claimed Eva, “stable name” for just £5000 thirty days ago. She was previously trained by Sir Mark Prescott. Nikolayeva is bred for stamina and will require two miles once she’s a bit older and stronger. Eva is very well bred. Her sister Timoshenko, won six on the bounce over ...

Plenty of good racing today up and down the country. A decent card at Kempton with the Lanzarote Hurdle always a good betting heat. Over at Warwick, The Classic Chase takes place with £75,000 of prize money up for grabs. I’m hoping Kimberlite Candy goes close in the big race at Warwick. A cracking run last time out when a clear second in the Becher at Aintree, todays greater test of ...

A bit of evening racing awaits us later today, Adams Park runs under the lights at Kempton in the 7:15.This looks like quite an intresting race with a few horses well backed. It's Adam's Park first try at two miles and a step into the unknown. If he get's the trip, touch wood he'll run well off top weight.

A really good afternoon was had at Hereford yesterday. All our horses ran very well finishing 3rd, 2nd, 1st. It was great to get every owner into the winners enclosure. Broughtons Admiral was very impressive, he won with any amount in hand whilst carrying 12 stone. BA will get in some big races now and be a 130 rated horse plus. His win also put more value on Pirate Of The Sea, who is Broughtons ...

We have our first runners of 2020 this afternoon at Hereford. It’s a busy day with three horses taking their chance. Irska in the 12:40, Artistic Language 1:40 and Broughtons Admiral 2:15. All three run in tricky races on heavy ground which would be ok for Irska but not so much Artistic Language and Broughtons Admiral. It’s good to up and running and on a racecourse that do a really...

Happy New Year, I very much hope 2020 is a great and healthy one for you. No better way to nurse a hangover than Cheltenham races on New Year’s Day! A fair meeting with the Paddy Power Chase the feature. Nothing catches the eye at Cheltenham, but I've placed a speculative few pounds EW on Peter The Mayo Man in the 2:15 at Musselburgh. Priced at 14-1. Peter The Mayo Man has a good bit in h...

We had a brilliant Boxing Day, Hugo ‘N Taz won the Lincolnshire National on debut in our silks. It was a superb result for his owners and long-term plan came off. I’ve been trying to buy Hugo ‘N Taz for a few years privately, we finally secured the horse at the Doncaster sales for £19,000 in August. The plan from the word go was to try and win the Lincolnshire National and...

I hope you had a super Christmas and Santa was kind. A superb day of sport this afternoon up and down the country. The fixture at Kempton is fantastic, high class racing with the King George the feature. Cyrname & Lostintranslation looks a fantastic duel. The track should suit Cyrname with more emphasis on speed around here. Whatever the result, nothing beats Lostintranslation in the Gold Cu...
