Our Christmas Party and meal was a great night. The venue is fantastic and the food good as anywhere you could go when catering for 90 odd people. It really was a super night and I dare say there was a few sore heads the following morning! We head to Uttoxeter today in what’s likely to be a very wet and windy day. The ground will be bottomless and proper hard work. This isn’t an idea...

Outstanding racing today, it’s difficult to know where to start. We have a busy day this end too. It’s our Christmas Party this evening. Hopefully all our trainers and jockeys will have good journeys back from Aintree & Chepstow and make it in time for the start. Some nice winners on here in the past three weeks, I’ll bid to keep that going today although I haven’t muc...

Super racing this afternoon up and down the country. Newcastle got the go ahead after a frost scare. The feature on the card is the Fighting Fifth Hurdle where dual Champion Hurdle winner Buveur D’Air bids to win the race for the third time. Newbury holds a great card of racing as it did yesterday. The Ladbrokes Trophy Chase at 3:00 could have a potential Gold Cup horse in the field. Findi...

Lostintranslation was very impressive at the weekend, I hope you took the advice and perhaps did the EW double for the King George and Gold Cup. The combined odds were around 45-1, it’s far less now. I personally can’t see what beats him. We have two runners today both at Wetherby. Artistic Language makes his debut for us and hurdles debut at the same time in the 12:40. Then later on,...

An excellent day of racing, quality horses running all over the country with some fantastic clashes. Starting at Haydock, the exciting, Lostintranslation takes on Bristol De Mai. Throw in Ballyoptic and Frodon, this perhaps is the race of the day. I’m a big fan of Lostintranslation and think he's the real deal. It could be tough taking Bristol De Mai on his fav racecourse “4 from 4&rd...

We head to Ascot today with two runners. It’s always good fun having runners at Ascot. A fantastic racecourse and the owners experience / facilities are excellent. The first of our runners is Flash De Clerval who makes his debut in our colours at 1:30. Flash is a grand horse and a big lad, he’s going to be a lovely chaser in the making over a trip. His sire is the same as Pineau De R...

Just a quick update today and on a Sunday since it's Cheltenham. I've had a fair bet on Duc De Beauchene in the first at Cheltenham. There isn't anybody better than David Pipe for setting a horse up for a race. Tis looks like it's been then plan for a long time. Odds of 3-1 look fair. In the same colours at 3:00, Dame De Compagnie looks well in. As per the above, this looks to have been the aim....

Super news that Cheltenham goes ahead today, there looked to be little chance earlier in the week after the biblical amount of rain we had. The ground staff have done a great job getting the meeting on plus saving two of the races that should have been ran yesterday. Eight races to lose money on, well hopefully not, but if your punting good luck. Horses that stay further than the distance their r...

No time for a full blog today as by the time you read this, I'll be on my way to Ayr. We have Leoncavallo running in the Scottish Champion Hurdle Trail. It's seasonal debut for Leon. He's in good form but must give a lot of weight away whilst the ground is soft. You have to start somewhere though and this is a nice starting point in a good Saturday race.

The wet weather has forced Doncaster & Newbury to abandon. This isn’t surprising as the rain keeps on coming. So many meetings already have been lost due to waterlogging. In January you wouldn’t be surprised but not this time of the year. We had a stable visit earlier in the week at Dr Newland’s. Owners got to see the new training facility and watch their horse work on gallo...

The big end of season flat meeting takes place at Ascot this afternoon, Champions Day with six super races taking place. Punting will be an unknown as the meeting is taking place on the inner hurdles course due to the heavy ground on the flat track. This will result in a lot of unknowns. Firstly, the draw. This meeting has never taken place on the hurdles course, there could be a biased whilst wh...

We have a runner at Wolverhampton this evening in the 7:45. Adams Park has his first run under the guidance of Mick Appleby. We’ve not ran Adams Park on the level before so it’s a bit of a learning curve for us. On paper, Adams Park might require further than 1m4f. We're also taking on race fit and possible improving 3yo horses that AP must give weight too. Adams Park seem in good fo...

We were really pleased with Included’s effort at Worcester on Thursday. Third in a race with much higher rated horses than her whilst running on ground that didn't suit. Included is now qualified for the valuable Mares’ Chase Final at Cheltenham in April. This will be lovely race to go for and give her owners a big day out. We’ll send Included on her holidays now, she’s ha...

Included has her last run of the season this afternoon in the 2:10 at Worcester. The race is a qualifying event for the Chase Series Final at Cheltenham in April. Eight horses would have qualified from this race but with just the five runners lining up, Included just needs complete to give her owners a big day out next year. The ground will be on the soft side for Included whilst she only ran fi...

We have our first runner today for a few weeks, Included runs in the 2:25 at Fontwell. The wet weather of late has scuppered our running plans. We’ve sent most of our summer horses on holiday now and Included won’t be far behind them. Included deserves to get her head in front over a fence, she’s ran fine but the handicapper knows where she is. We’ve put a pair of cheekpie...
