Black Anthem won on debut for us and his owners at Stratford on Sunday. It was a good afternoon and nice to secure a winner after so many placed efforts of late. We claimed Black Anthem for just 6k and thought he was a horse that might have more to offer. Black Anthem does indeed look like a shrewd bit of business, hopefully he can win again during the summer months. Irksa makes his debut for us ...

We had another good night of racing at Ffos Las on Friday, our two horses finished 3rd and 2nd. So far this season, we’ve only had three horses finish out of the winners enclosure from fifteen starts. Stratford today with Black Anthem who makes his debut in the VRC colours at 5:55. We claimed Black Anthem for just £6000 after finishing 3rd in a selling race at Exeter. Black Anthem is...

We head to Ffos Las this evening with two runners, it’s set to be a fun night in the Welsh sun with Elvis playing after racing. I heard Elvis had been hiding out in Wales, staying in the Heartbreak Hotel apparently. Included runs in the first race followed by Trigger Nichol in the 6:40. Included ran well on chase debut finishing 2nd, the race perhaps fell to bits, but it was a fair effort....

We were really pleased with Aldrin's seasonal debut at Worcester on Monday. Aldrin finished 3rd in what was a decent little race. The run was Aldrin's best first time out effort for us, he normally doesn't run that great. David Pipe has done a super job with Aldrin. It's great to see the Pond House team is super form. We head to the Newmarket sales today for a couple of days. Plenty of work has g...

It’s the start of a busy week, we head to Worcester today with Aldrin who makes his seasonal debut in the 4:45. Aldrin has been a big success, winning 3 times from 9 starts. He’s a nice horse that holds a fair engine. Buzz as we call him, normally needs a couple of runs to achieve full fitness, he’s a big gross horse that requires a lot of work to get 100% fit. This is a compet...

A quite week for us with no runners. However, things will be very busy in the next ten days, five possible runners whilst we’ll be at the Newmarket sales from Wednesday onwards. Tomorrow, we’re at the yard of Jamie Snowden’s with the owners of Irska and Tinsmith. Both horses will work on the Lambourn gallops, afterwards a champagne breakfast awaits. It’s set to be lovely s...

We had a good afternoon at Ffos Las on Wednesday, Included & Velvet Revolution both ran super races on chase and hurdles debut. Both finished second. Included finished ahead of horses rated 15lb better than her and jumped great, whilst Velvet Revolution was beaten a length with 12 lengths back to the third placed horse. Velvet Revolution looks a nice recruit to hurdles, trainer Alastair Ralph...

We head to Ffos Las today with two runners this afternoon. Included makes her chasing debut in what looks the best novice chase of the summer months so far. Whilst, Velvet Revolution makes his hurdles debut. Sam Twiston Davies rides both horses. It’s a big ask for Included but there aren’t many novice chase options at the moment. Today’s race wouldn’t look out of place in...

It’s been a very good week from a punting punt of view at Royal Ascot. Two 7-1 winners plus Daahyeh at 5-1 yesterday and Japan at 6-4. We then had the 2nd & 3rd in the Duke Of Edinburgh stakes priced at 9-1 & 6-1. Ben Vrackie should have been the icing on the cake. He was a bit slow away and just failed to get up, half a stride after the line he was nearly a length in front. Very un...

Ascot was brilliant yesterday, not just the racing but Frankie Dettori coming so close to a five timer. The bookies would have lost tens of millions if Turgenev didn’t get caught close home. It was fantastic watching the afternoon unfold. Star Catcher was another nice 7-1 winner for us on here. Today, we could see some of the favourites take a bit of beating. 3:05 - Japan 3:40 - Ten Sover...

The poor weather has put a real dampener on Royal Ascot so far. The racing has been very good but for the people in attendance, it’s looked hard work at times which is a real shame. Let’s hope the sun appears for the remaining days of the meeting. Addeybb was a nice winner highlighted at 7-1 on Tuesday, it won’t be easy finding winners but I’ll give it a go. I’ve ba...

It’s the start of Royal Ascot today, five great days of racing and a meeting like no other. The very wet weather of late has played and will play a big part in the results. The ground is drying but thunderstorms and up to 50mil of rain could hit around lunchtime. It will be a real shame if that does happen. All the lovely outside bars will be unusable whilst the going will turn back to soft ...

The weather this week has messed up our running plans. An incredible amount of rain has fallen resulting in soft / heavy ground and plenty of fixtures lost. Over, 100mil of rain has been seen in places. This time last year, it was 30c and we were in the middle of a long heatwave! We have horses ready to run, but we’ll just have to wait until things dry up. I’ve had a couple of bets to...

We had a good afternoon despite the weather at Market Rasen. Stubborn Logic was very tough in winning for his owners. Yesterday could have been Stubborn Logic’s second maybe even third win if we had a bit of luck in the past two runs. It was third time lucky and  there’s hopefully more to come. The Value Racing Club horses are running well, we’ve not been out of the winner...

We run Stubborn Logic this afternoon at Market Rasen, Sam Twiston Davies takes the ride. Stubborn Logic ran a career best race last time out at Fontwell, just beaten into second place with a good distance back to the 3rd placed horse. Stubborn Logic didn’t quite see out the stiff Fontwell hill, Market Rasen should hopefully suit more. It’s a competitive little race with a few horses w...

Anthony Van Dyck was the winner of the Epsom Derby, less than a length separated the first five home. With so many horses finishing so close to the winner, it perhaps suggests this year’s renewal wasn’t a vintage one. Time will tell but I’d be surprised if a star comes out of the race. We head to Southwell today with Included who runs in the 4:15. Included gave her owners a gre...
