We have our first runner today since our super weekend the other week. Al Shabab Storm ran a cracker in the 100k Portland to finish 3rd. We got stopped in running a furlong out and if not for that, I think we would have won this huge race. Jackstell kept us ticking over nicely when winning well at Stratford, today is a big weekend. Al Shabab Storm runs in the 100k Portland Sprint on St Leger Day at Doncaster. Back In The Bay runs at Bangor this afternoon and jumps a fence for the second time. The trip will suit nicely, but we wouldn't want the ground to be any worse than good to soft. It's an open race with plenty looking to hold chances.

Bona Fortuna runs at Brighton this evening in the luck last. Bona ran really well here last time out when he would have needed the run. The drop back in trip will be no problem and he'll strip fitter. We have to give a lot of weight away though and this could be tough towards the climb to the line. The favourite could be hard to beat, but Bona should run well.

Buxted Reel picked up a deserved win over hurdles at Newton Abbot last week. Ted won nicely and gave his owners a lovely day in the sun by the sea. We are heading in the other direction today with Al Shabab Storm who runs in the prestigious Beverley Bullet. Buxted Reel runs at Newton Abbot this evening. Back over hurdles for Ted, he didn't enjoy his flat outing last time out but had been in good form jumping beforehand. A trappy race that looks like it could be run at a strong gallop. Buxted Reel always gives his best and deserves to win a race over hurdles.

The racing at York this week has been fantastic, Ebor day this afternoon with massive prize money up for grabs. My two against the field would be Klassleader & Hopewell Rock. We head to Chester with Howth, who is having a spin on the level, his first for a few years since going jumping. We didn't have any obvious options over hurdles so why not have a runner at Chester. We have our first runner for a couple of weeks today at Brighton. Nibras Gold runs on the flat again after his excellent win at Chester last time out. Nibras Gold remains in good form, if he handles the track, Nibras should run his normal game race and make the others work to get past him. The favourite looks unexposed and still on the upgrade.

Al Shabab Storm gave his owners a brilliant evening at Newcastle when winning the Gosforth Park Cup. This was our biggest flat win so far, it was fantastic to land such a £60,000 prestigious race and take home the magnificent cup. Ballydisco runs at Market Rasen today in the 4:35.
