Only The Bold was secured for £30,000 at the 2022, Goffs May sale. This was a bit cheaper than his purchase price two years earlier when purchased for £215,000 at the Cheltenham Sales.

Only The Bold looked a star in the making when winning his Irish P2P by nine lengths. In second place was Tommy’s Oscar, who is now rated in the high 150’s and ran in the 2022 Champion Hurdle against Honeysuckle.

Only The Bold showed smart form in his first season under rules, winning a Novice Hurdle by eight lengths on soft ground. The second season for whatever reason didn’t go to plan but, Only The Bold finished second on his final start for previous connections back on his favoured soft ground.

We’ll keep him to a softer surface and go chasing.
