We purchased Didly D for £7000 after watching him show plenty of promise on debut in Ireland.
Didly D went off at relatively short odds for a National Hunt flat race. The horse showed a nice amount of ability finishing sixth of the fourteen runners. This son of Arcadio, would have finished much closer with a clear run.
The form of the race has worked out very well. The winner is now smart over hurdles and trained by Joseph O’Brien. The third placed horse and just seven lengths in front of Didly D, has since been sold to Paul Nicholls for £125,000. Other horses have also come out of the race and won.
Didly D came from a trainer in Ireland that has very few runners under rules, he’s also a big leggy type that needs to grow into his frame. Didly D looks promising, his long term future will be over a fence.
Didly D will be trained by Dr Richard Newland.
