Howth was purchased from Ireland in a private deal. Previously trained by Aidan O'Brien, this big strapping son of Churchill, peaked at a rating of 101 for his all-conquering connections.

Howth paid the price for finishing fourth in a Group 2 race at Leopardstown. Beaten under a length, his rating went from 91 to 102. This made life tough for him going forward and despite being very talented, Howth wasn’t quite good enough for his big owners and needs to come down a few pounds.

We can run Howth in top races with good prize money up for grabs from the word go. Still a young horse with plenty of growing left in him, top level handicaps over a mile plus is where his future lies.
