We secured Aldrin at the Goffs Doncaster sale for the sum of £22,000. This son of New Approach was our number one target and looks a great buy at that price. Aldrin would have likely fetched a good deal more if going through the ring at a flat sale.
Aldrin was owned by Godolphin and ran twice in the famous blue silks finishing 4th and 3rd before we purchased him. His flat form couldn’t have worked out any better. Aldrin finished 4th on his debut Doncaster, the third placed and second placed horse both won next time out. The winner of the race then finished 2nd at Meydan on his next start.
Aldrin has plenty of size and stands at 16.1 hands, he’s a chunky well framed horse and moves very well. We’ll campaign Aldrin through the Spring & Summer jumps season but likely have a spin on the flat at some point.
Aldrin will be trained by David Pipe.
