Scottish Grand National Day, and a big afternoon in the trainer’s championship race. If Willie Mullins takes the big race, that will make him very hard to beat going into the final weeks of the season.

Two of our syndicate trainers will be hoping to stop that from happening, Jamie Snowden and Lucinda Russell have the first and second favourites in Git Maker & Inis Oirr. Both horses look to have sound claims.

I was very impressed with the win of Voyager at Newbury yesterday.

A taking debut effort, trained by Richard Hannon. He’s 33-1 for the Derby and by a Derby winning sire in Golden Horn. I wouldn’t put anybody off having a few quid EW on him at that price.

We travel to Bangor, where Walk With Charisma makes his debut in the bumper at 4:35. Parker, as we call him, has been a very quick learner and loves the job.

Walk With Charisma was a very cheap buy, just over 4k, but there is nothing wrong with his breeding.

He’s not the quickest and will be a 3m stayer like his relatives. We just want Parker to enjoy his first day at school. If he can finish halfway, that will have been a pleasing run.
