The final day of the Cheltenham Festival and Gold Cup Day.

My first couple of bets come in the 2:00.

Paul Townsend hasn’t ridden in any handicaps at the festival until this one. He rides Karbau for Willie Mullins of course. This is likely a tip in itself.

Karbau has placed in much better races than this “grade 1” a rating of 150 might underestimate him. Priced at 4-1.

At bigger odds, I’ve thrown a few quid ew on Jubilee Alpha, 20-1. Make sure you shop around for the six places & seven places on offer.

Jubilee Alpha holds good course form, whilst I like the drop back in trip for this one. A strongly run 2m will be spot on for a horse that’s not been getting home over 2m4f.

I’m taking Panic Attack to beat Dinoblue in the Mares’ Chase at 2:40. If Harry Skelton can keep tabs on the leaders and be within a few lengths jumping two out, Panic Attack could outstay her rivals up the hill. The race is between these two horses.

The Gold Cup looks open this year.

Jango Baie looks to have been crying out for this trip visually and on breeding whilst Gaelic Warrior is very classy but might have a little stamina question. The Jukebox Man won't stay, and I can see Sean Bowen making this a proper test on Haiti Couleurs with that horse in front two out.

They would be my three against, I'm struggling to choose the winner between Jango Baie & Garlic Warrior.

Panda Boy looks sure to run a big race in the Hunters’ Chase at 4:20. This classy stayer has some strong back form under rules and has come right back to form since switching to this type of race.

He’s got a good jockey on his back and will stay every yard. Priced at 11-2.

In the lucky last, I’m with Roc Dino who looks totally unexposed. Ran just twice for the Mullins yard against other horses from this yard. Each time the trip was over 2m, Roc Dino was outpaced and could be seen staying on.

The trip of 2m4f looks perfect, Roc Dino could be well in here, although Mullins does have other runners shorter in the betting. However, it wouldn’t be the first time one of his won at a bigger price. Act Of Authority would have a great chance if repeating his effort in this race last year.

Six and seven places are on offer, 12-1 ew.
