It’s Cheltenham trials day and what a day of racing it is. Many questions will be answered this afternoon. Will the bubble burst with Thistlecrack? I doubt it. Will, Un De Sceaux cement his place at the top of the of the Ryanair market? Will, Unowhatimeanharry prove to be just about un-beatable for the stayers? Don’t forget Vroum Vroum Mag over at Doncaster too.

It’s likely one of the above might come un-stuck, if they all win, the bookies will be in a right old mess as plenty will do the four timer.

JP McManus holds all the aces in the opening race at Cheltenham, I’m amazed he’s letting Charli Parcs & Defi Du Seuil take each other on at this stage. JP will likely be the only one who knows which horse will come out on top but the jockeys could well be told!

I’d go with Defi Du Seuil and his proven race experience, priced at 11-8.

I don’t tend to bet much at Cheltenham on trials day as not every horse will be showing its hand. One horse that will be giving it’s all though is Tenor Nivernais in the 1:10.

Trained by Venetia Williams, Tenor Nivernais has been running very well of late and lasts night rain will have made conditions ideal. Tenor Nivernais is proven around Cheltenham and looks sure to run well at nice odds. The 14-1 on offer EW looks fine.

Over at Uttoxeter in the 2:45, Le Rocher must go very close if his form with Clyne can be taken literally. Le Rocher got within 1 length of Clyne last time out, Clyne then gave The New One a right old fright last weekend when getting within a length.

If Le Rocher runs to the same level of form and Clyne’s effort was no fluke, Le Rocher must take some beating today. The price of 13-8 looks good on paper. He'd be my main pick for today.
