Back from holiday and looking forward to the jumps season proper. Our Winter team of Sioux Chieftain, West Of The Edge, Audacious Plan, Trigger Nichol & Ilovemints are all in pre-training with their respective trainers. Our first runners from the above will be around a month away so things will remain fairly quiet. However, we still have two Summer horses on the go and one of them runs today ...

Our Summer horses have or are coming to the end of their campaigns. The Winter team are all in pre-training for the new season and look to be going nicely at this early stage. On paper, we have some nice horses that can hopefully give their owners some good days out through the Winter months. September is always a quite month for us and most jump trainers. The majority are in the same boat, Summe...

Newt ran very well for her owners at Worcester on Wednesday. Her debut effort was all wrong and could be forgiven. Newt had never seen a rubber hurdle before and scared herself at the first. It was a very different performance at Worcester, Newt jumped soundly and ran well in the best Juvenile hurdle of the Summer so far. She got a little out-paced on the turn for home before staying on strongly. ...

We have a runner Newton Abbot tonight in the 6:35. Aldrin bids to follow up his win at Bangor-On-Dee. Aldrin won nicely at Bangor but it wasn’t much of a race. The leaders went hard and the race possibly fell apart. Aldrin won impressively though and you can only beat what’s in front of you. Tonight’s race will take a lot more winning. Berry De Carjac hacked up five days ago. T...

The Nunthorpe Stakes had just about everything, Frankie thought he’d won it, Marsha just getting up and Battaash unfortunately losing all chance before the race began. I was a little surprised Frankie took Lady Aurelia away from the rest of the runners, she showed amazing speed but possibly got a little lonely and couldn’t see Marsha coming until it was too late. Quicker going would h...

The Nunthorpe Stakes at York this afternoon could be one of the races of the year. Battaash has looked top class in his starts this season and beaten all before him. However, he’s not met the superstar filly from America, Lady Aurelia. The race has the makings of a classic that could live long in the memory. Throw in the likes of Marsh & Profitable who would be mopping up Group 1 races ...

A good start for us at York, all three horses given a positive mention yesterday were winning bets. Ulysses was the highlight winning the big race of the day at 4-1. Given a peach of a ride by Jim Crowley, Ulysses travelled like a dream and looked the winner from some way out. He’s turned into a real money spinner for and always seems underestimated for some reason. Cracksman although short...

The York Ebor meeting starts today, this is one of the best meetings of the year and certainly my favourite flat fixture. A biblical thunder storm hit the racecourse in the past few hours. The going was good to firm but it won't be now. Keep an eye out for a ground change and watch your bets. The big race of the day is the Juddmonte International Stakes at 3:35. An amazing £1,000,000 of pr...

Aldrin won impressively for his owners at Bangor-On-Dee on Wednesday. Tom Scudamore never moved a muscle on Aldrin who won on the bridle. It was an exciting performance. Aldrin is far from the finished product, he’s still raw and has a lot of growing left in him. This was our first winner with David Pipe on just our second start. David and his team have done a grand job with Aldrin, hopeful...

We have two runners this afternoon, Newt makes her hurdles debut in the 2:00 at Newton Abbot, then at Bangor-On-Dee, Aldrin runs in the 5:50. We purchased Newt last month at the July sales, she looked the type that could make a nice Juvenile hurdler. She’s only 3 and will be a horse for the future for her owners. Newt has jumped well at home but you never know what will happen in this type ...

Bishop Of Bling didn’t show his form for us at Haydock on Thursday, BOB finished 6th. The run can be forgiven though as Bishop Of Bing was found to have a small niggle the next morning that stopped his efforts. He’s sound now but were going to send the horse on his holidays. BOB has been on the go for a while and we want to get him back over hurdles. It’s Shergar Cup day at Asc...

With no jumps racing for over a week, things are a little quieter this end. We do have a runner today though, on the flat. This keeps us ticking over until nicely until the jumps start again. Bishop Of Bling runs in the first at Haydock, top jockey Paul Hanagan takes the ride. Bishop Of Bling ran his best race for us last time out and deserved to be placed. BOB lost a couple of positions close h...

A busy week comes to an end today at Market Rasen, we have Trafalgar Rock running in the 3:00. Sam Twiston Davies rides. This is the last National Hunt meeting for a week. Trafalgar Rock is very consistent, he’s only finished out of the first three once in eight starts for us. Three of those eight runs have been winning ones. Nelson as we call him has made a fair start to chasing but could...

We had a great night at Newmarket, just having a runner at HQ is super, a winner is fantastic. Mountain Rescue bolted up under James Doyle. Last night was the first time Mountain Rescue had everything drop right this season. We’ve always known he’s smart and this showed with a classy performance. The race was the quickest on the night furlong to furlong, the splits make for very good ...

A good result and perfect outcome for the owners of Milrow at Stratford yesterday. Milrow won the selling hurdle and was purchased in the auction after the race for £8000. We protected Milrow to £7500. We wish his new trainer, Sophie Leech all the best with Milrow. It was a case of job done for the Milrow syndicate. He’s been a brilliant horse for us, 3 wins, a good few places ...

I’ve always found Goodwood tough from a punting point of view as mentioned on Tuesday. Thankfully the strong word I had for Expert Eye was correct, he looks a horse of huge ability and must be a live contender for the 2000gns. It was close to being a very good day, Rebel Streak got chinned in a photo finish at 5-1. The Glorious Goodwood meeting always has big priced winners over the week. T...
