We were more than pleased with Included efforts at Wolverhampton earlier in the week. Included finished 5^th beaten just over four lengths. Our mare found everything happening too quickly as we thought she would over one mile four. The outing will have done Included the world of good and she's coming along nicely.

I’ve had a couple of bets today, touch wood we can keep the good run going, winners highlighted every Saturday in 2017 so far.

The first horse I’ve backed is Alvarado EW in the 2:05 at Musselburgh, The Edinburgh National

Most of the runners lining up have never ran close to 4 miles, good ground will give a few of them a chance of staying but if you don’t stay you can’t win. Alvarado missed out on getting a run in the Grand National last year and he’ll do the same this around unless he wins beforehand. Simply, Alvarado must win today if he’s going to get in the Aintree showpiece.

The Fergal O’Brien trained horse will likely find Musselburgh on the sharp side especially on good ground, however he’s the one horse that’s proven over the race distance. Priced at 13-2 EW, Alvarado looks worth a wager, it’s hard to see him out of the 3.

My other selection is Clan Des Obeaux in the 2:25 at Sandown, odds of 9-4

Paul Nicholls trains Clan Des Obeaux as he does the 2^nd favourite Le Prezien. I just prefer CDO as he brings solid Grade 2 form into the race. The stiff Sandown hill should play to his strengths and I’m fairly sure Clan Des Obeaux would have won last time if not for an error two out. With the 3lb pull he has over his rivals, I’m hoping Sean Bowen can bring him home.

Just 2 shares are left in our new horse Aldrin in training with David Pipe. Buzz “stable name” has now been gelded but did one piece of work beforehand and moved ever so well, David informs he’s got a lovely engine.
