Value Racing Club horse Rhythm Star makes her seasonal and hurdles debut this afternoon in the 1:20 at Uttoxeter, Star’s done well over the summer and grown again whilst her schooling has gone well.

Today's race looks well above average for a mare's maiden hurdle, Avispa won the mares Aintree bumper from Lady Buttons who also won easily last week. I know trainer Alan King likes Avispa a lot and thinks she’s a smashing prospect.

Taniokey won nicely on her debut and was purchased for 34k during the summer by Oliver Sherwood. Balmusette & Haatefina have both achieved higher RPR's on their runs than Rhythm Star whilst Faerie Reel is a three time winner in France.

If Rhythm Star can finish in the first 3 or 4 we will be delighted, she will improve as the season goes on and today is just about a nice clear round of jumping and for Rhythm Star to enjoy herself.

Our new purchase Ebony Express arrived at Dr Newland’s yard yesterday and has settled in great, he’s a good looking type with a lovely attitude who loves a groom and been made a fuss of. Just a handful of shares are now left, if you would like to be involved with a classy hurdle recruit with Grand National winning trainer Dr Richard Newland, please do get in touch.
