The new website is up and running, the guys at Smarter Web Company have done a great job, the site looks fresh and will hopefully impress visitors to the website.
High Jinx ran a solid race for us on Thursday 2nd at 10-1 EW. As normal the horse hit a flat spot then hung before running on strongly. I’m still adamant High Jinx can land a big staying prize maybe when tackling two miles four, surely he will be given the chance to be a classy staying hurdler though at some stage.
There’s so much racing at many of the bigger tracks this afternoon it’s difficult to know where to start, one of those days where I could back a dozen horses. From experience this is normally when things go very wrong especially on soft ground but we’ll give it a shot and look for some value.
Garswood who runs in the 2:40 at Haydock looks an EW bet to nothing at 7-2. If the horse runs to the same level of form of his 3rd in a Group 1 behind Moonlight Cloud he should take some beating.
Conditions should be ideal for Garswood who loves to get his toe in, the Richard Fahey trained horse needs to bounce back after a below par effort on seasonal debut but that was over a mile and he doesn’t get home over the distance whilst might have needed the run. Tawhid could be the danger, will love the ground.
I’ve backed Garswood though EW at 7-2.
The 2:50 at York is a minefield and not really a race you can be confident about, however Long Awaited priced at 12-1 EW makes a bit of appeal at a good price. The horse has threatened to win a decent sprint for some time although I was hoping it would run in the Epsom Dash next week and not today.
Long Awaited travels so well in his races and shows fantastic speed, he’s been unlucky on first two starts of this season running into trouble so it’s hoped a clear path can be sort today. Hayley Turner takes the ride whilst conditions are perfect for the horse. With luck in running Long Awaited should give you a decent run for your money, the other way to play the race is a bet to lay, I would be quite hopeful the selection will trade much shorter in running.
At a shorter price Rye House 3:35 Newmarket looks to have a solid chance, the horse will have improved for its first of the season and the return to one mile four looks ideal. It’s a highly competitive race but odds of 3-1 look ok, can be backed EW at the price.
