Broughtons Admiral won nicely by 9 lengths for us and his owners at Hereford on Tuesday.
Broughtons Admiral jumped and travelled strongly under Sam Twiston Davies. This was Broughtons Admiral's first career win and it was well deserved. The horse was very consistent on the flat “we didn’t own him then” he was never far away and placed in most runs.
BA has taken to jumping well and will give his owners plenty of fun in the coming seasons, he’s a nice young horse. The win was also our first with trainer Alastair Ralph. It was great to get off the mark so quickly and I’m sure there will be plenty more to come.
The weather is getting boring now, we’ve had 2 days of solid rain in the midlands, I can’t remember it being so wet at this time of the year. Looking at the forecast for the week ahead, it’s rain every single day.
We have three of our Spring / Summer horses ready to go but it’s pointless running on heavy ground. It could set them back a month. I keep thinking it’s got to dry up soon but there isn’t much sign of it. We'll just have to ride it out I suppose.
If you wanted a bet this afternoon, Percy Street might be worth a look in the 2:40 at Haydock.
This horse is so well handicapped, he's much better than recent efforts. However, Percy Street doesn’t look to be in love with the game at the moment. The blinkers that go on for the first time would have to make a big diffrence.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he won at nice odds nor surprised to see Percy Street tailed off and pulled up. Percy Street would be a very risky selection but he'll come back to form when he's ready. If that's today your guess is good as mine.
Percy Streeet might be worth a throw away fiver EW at 8-1. He's one to keep an eye on even if he runs poorly.
Have a Happy Easter and enjoy the long weekend.
