Super racing this afternoon up and down the country. Newcastle got the go ahead after a frost scare. The feature on the card is the Fighting Fifth Hurdle where dual Champion Hurdle winner Buveur D’Air bids to win the race for the third time.
Newbury holds a great card of racing as it did yesterday. The Ladbrokes Trophy Chase at 3:00 could have a potential Gold Cup horse in the field.
Finding winners won’t be easy with such competitive fields. However, I thought Floressa should reverse the form with Silver Forever in the first race at Newbury. Floressa is short enough at even money, I've had a nice bet though and think she'll take some beating.
Winning the 2:25 at Newbury on seasonal debut will take some doing. I’m hoping Elusive Belle EW might do that for Nicky Henderson. A rating of 134 looks more than workable and I think she’s well handicapped. If fit and ready, Elusive Belle should go well. She’s mare to keep on the right side of and should be winning soon if not today.
The Ladbrokes Trophy really is a pin stick job, my two against the field would be Dingo Dollar who came 3rd in this last year. He looks to have been aimed at the race again and had a decent prep a few weeks ago. Odds of 12-1 EW looks ok.
Mister Malarky would be my other pick, I think we can forget his comeback run, connections have said for a long time they had this race in mind for the horse. 12-1 EW.
A few bookies are paying six places in the big race so shop around.
