We Have A New Horse - Shares Available

I’m delighted to inform we successfully purchased a new horse yesterday at the Newmarket sales.

The new recruit is called Ebony Express, a 5yo gelding with an official flat rating of 82. Ebony Express is a 6 time flat winner and won on his latest two starts at Carlisle and Catterick. The horse has also been placed 7 times in a total of just 23 runs.

Ebony Express has a fantastic profile for hurdles and knows how to win, he loves heavy going and stays very well “won at one mile six”, he’s clearly very versatile handles quicker ground too and falls into the could be anything category.

Earlier in the week a horse called Number One London went for just under £30,000gns, Number One London was 2^nd behind Ebony Express two runs ago and we paid £27,500gns. Ebony Express is far more consistent, won 5 more races and is officially higher rated, I’m very confident we have a well bought horse on our hands.

Ebony Express will go into training with Grand National winning trainer Dr Richard Newland and be ready to run in approx 6 weeks. Dr Newland informs he reminds him over another horse called Overstrand.

Overstrand was rated 75 on the flat before Richard trained him and also loved it when the mud was flying, very few horses handle desperate heavy conditions, this led to Overstrand winning the William Hill Hurdle at Ascot, a £50,000 race. Overstand used his flat speed and stamina and galloped his rivals into the ground on horrible going. Ebony Express comes with the exact same profile but is a better flat horse than Overstrand.

Dr Newland is very hopeful Ebony Express could develop into an Imperial Cup type and be a proper Saturday horse through the National Hunt season proper. The plan going forward is to win a maiden hurdle and step up in class as the season goes on, Ebony Express is used to running in big fields from the front, and he will have no problem running in valuable races with a lot of runners.

The price is set at cost and covers the purchase, training fees and all other ongoing bills until 30^th April 2015 with nothing else to pay.
