It’s Cheltenham trials day, the meeting survived an inspection following 15mm of rain overnight. The ground will be very testing and its likely stamina will win the day. Although the meeting is classed as trials day and has plenty of money up for grabs I wouldn’t be totally sold on the results today and expect to see the same in March. Come March you would hope the meeting starts on good to soft ground and not heavy.

Un Temps Pour Tout runs in the 1:15, the horse stays three miles whilst has form on heavy ground. With this race being run over two miles four, the David Pipe trained horse shouldn’t have any stamina issues and should run his race at odds of 4-1.

I’ve been highly taken by Yanworth “3:00 Cheltenham” and think he’s very good indeed, however I can’t back him today over a trip the best part of four furlongs further than he’s tried before. Throw in the heavy ground, it’s quite possible Yanworth might not get home but I do hope he wins.

Over at Doncaster Kir Royal in the mares’ NH flat race “4:25” is expected to go nicely.
