Aldrin won cosily for us and his owners at Worcester yesterday. The win wasn’t unexpected despite his big odds of 16-1. Buzz opened at 25-1 on the racecourse. His owners helped themselves to the fancy prices.

Aldrin needed his first run back as mentioned on here, he’s a big horse that takes plenty of work to get fit. Buzz has a nice engine, he’s also the best-bred horse we’ve got. Aldrin is quite raw and still learning his trade, the penny is dropping though and he’s working out what’s required. We’ll mind him as he’s a nice horse for the future.

Mountain Rescue ran ok at Newmarket but got unbalanced and stumbled on every bit of rising ground. Mountain Rescue was always travelling well but when coming with a challenge, he hit the up and downs of the Rowley mile and had to be gathered up again. He ran better than the finishing positions suggests.

The racing at Newmarket is excellent today, the Cambridgeshire is the big betting race of the day,

I’ve been very impressed with Beatboxer so far this season, he runs in the 1:50 priced at 15-8.

Beatboxer has been impressive in his two wins from two starts. Beatboxer only had to be pushed out at Haydock. The form has been franked with runners behind winning since. Arthur Kitt looks the danger, he would hold stronger form, but I’ve been taken by Beatboxer and will side with him.

The Cambridgeshire at 3:40 is a pin stick job. For what it’s worth I’ve had a few pounds EW on Pivoine at 20-1. Pivoine has always been smart but the first-time blinkers found further improvement at York. Pivoine has gone up 8lbs but he’s the type of horse that should suit such a race. Some bookies are paying 8 places so do shop around.

I'm told Sparkle Roll has improved plenty for her debut, she runs in the 1:30 at Haydock, priced at 3-1. Sparkle Roll is bit of character but works like a smart filly. Hopefully she’ll put her best hoof forward and show what she does at home.
