We have two runners this afternoon on the flat at Newcastle. Bishop of Bling goes in the 3:05 then Mountain Rescue takes his chance in the 3:40.

It’s hopefully the start of a busy few days. A fun road trip and stop over at Newcastle, then onwards to Cartmel Friday. Tom Jones plays at Cartmel Friday evening so that will be good fun. Sunday looks like being another double header with Uttoxeter and possibly back at Cartmel.

Our owners are having a busy Summer watching their run at some lovely meetings.

Were still learning about Bishop Of Bling and learnt he hated the fibre sand of Southwell last month. We are hoping the tapeta surface of Newcastle will be more to his liking. BOB is still a little green but is learning his job and works well at home. Hopefully he’ll take another step forward today and run well.

Mountain Rescue hasn’t had any luck so far, this season. He’s in great form but nothing has dropped right. The race was lost before the stalls opened at Haydock with an impossible draw and annoyingly we have another dodgy one today. At least the stalls are in the centre of the racecourse this afternoon and a straight mile will help. This race is highly competitive as it should be with £35,000 on offer.
