We’ve had a busy Saturday so far and just got back from a stable morning at Mick Appleby’s. The owners of Adams Park were watching their horse work on the gallops. Thankfully the weather was kind and we had an enjoyable time seeing horses such as Danzeno and Big Country.
The Cambridgeshire is the big betting race of the day, 31 runners in a cavalry charge at Newmarket. Finding the winner isn't easy and a lot of luck is required.
Baltic Baron priced at 33-1 could outrun his odds. A strong pace “something he’s not had in his last few starts” is a must for this horse whilst the extra furlong will suit. Baltic Baron is a very strong traveller, hopefully he'll be seen holding a chance going into the last furlong. Quite a few bookies are paying 7 and 8 places so do shop around.
At a shorter price Kameko in the 1:50 did very well to finish second in a Group 3 at Sandown. Kameko still looked green at the business end of the race but the penny was starting to drop the further he went. The extra furlong today can only help. If learning a bit from his previous effort, Kameko should go close.
