A brilliant day of racing.
Newcastle survived the storm and racing goes ahead with the Fighting Fifth the highlight.
It will be interesting to see how Epatante runs after back surgery. She won this race last year, but things didn't quite go to plan afterwards due to her back. If the operation has done the trick, Epatante might force her way back into the Champion Hurdle picture with a win.
Staying at Newcastle, Valleres in the 1:30 should go very well with a repeat effort of his good third place at Newbury. Today's longer trip should be ideal.
The Ladbrokes trophy 3:30 at Newbury is the big race of the day. Cloth Cap bids to win the race again, he could be one for the Grand National.
Eklat De Rire might just be thrown in off 154 and could be a star in the making.
Fiddlerontheroof could be the EW option in the race priced at 8-1. Always held in high regard and with the yards horses now in form, Fiddlerontheroof warmed up nicely at Carlisle last time, I think he'll run well.
Not much time to look at the rest of the racing as it's our Christmas Party this evening. Just under 100 owners will be in attendance. We have a three-course meal cooked by a Michelin Star chief.
Entertainment through the evening, a guest host plus Black Jack, Roulette and Craps tables. Our trainers will be in attendance and it should be a great night.
