I hope you had a lovely Christmas Day, Santa found his way and the Turkey was tasty.

We have a feast of racing this afternoon on what’s one of the best days of sport in the calendar year. Touchwood we can find a few winners to help pay for Christmas as per Cap Soleil 13-8 & Gold Present 8-1 that was highlighted on Saturday. I was impressed with Gold Present, he could be a big player in something like the Grand National in time. All he did was gallop and stay, his jumping was superb.

Talking of galloping and staying, Boric will hopefully do just that in the 2:15 at Market Rasen. The Lincolnshire National. Boric ran a nice race over a trip that would have been on the sharp side for him at Newcastle last time out. He travelled lovely but got done for speed at the business end of the race. The form of his previous efforts over a staying trip, is working out nicely. The price of 8-1 EW looks fair.

Kempton is the feature meeting of the day, The King George ran at 3:05 needs little introduction. Before that, reigning Champion Hurdle winner, Buveur D’air runs in the 2:30. I’ve already nailed my colours to the mast on here about this horse. I think he’ll win the Champion Hurdle again in 2018. Faugheen is far from certain to make the race whilst 10yo horses don’t win Champion Hurdles.

Might Bite will take all the beating in the King George although I couldn’t bet him with super huge confidence at a short price. We’ve seen before he's a little quirky as most horses by Scorpion are. As for his rivals, I don't fancy Bristol De Mai at all away from Haydock, he also doesn't have his favoured heavy ground.

Maybe the value in the race is Whisper at 7-1 EW. He has a few lengths to make up on Might Bite but looked better than ever on seasonal reappearance. I think Might Bite will likely take the beating, but Whisper could pick up the pieces if Might Bite does something silly.
