Firstly I hope you had a great Christmas Day and you’re not feeling stuffed as the Turkey! Loads of meetings on Boxing Day, it’s a great day of sport.

The King George is the highlight of the day and I’m keen on Don Cossack priced at 5-2. It pains me to go against Vautour who is one of my favourite horses in training but I’m not sure three miles will be ideal for him as he shows so much speed. Going right handed is also a concern.

Cue Card looks improved this year but he’s tried to win this race numerous times and failed. Today’s renewal also looks stronger than previous years.  Smad Place could be the best EW bet in the race, the worry with him though is he’ll find this hard to dominate from the front. The more I look at Don Cossack the more I like him.

Elsewhere the going will play a big part, Wetherby has already been abandoned as has the Welsh Grand National at Chepstow tomorrow.

Sonofagun 3:00 Huntingdon caught the eye now dropped in class, headgear also goes on for the first time and the booking of Richard Johnson looks significant. He'll either go very close or bomb out at odds of 9-4.

I don’t often bet on football but the draw no bet on Leicester City priced at 2-1 is overpriced.
