It’s been good to see some smart National Hunt prospects run this week. One such horse was Ravenhill Road trained by Brian Ellison. He made his hurdling debut yesterday at Sedgefield. An Irish P2P winner and winner of two bumpers, Ravenhill Road made no mistake jumping in public for the first time winning by 23 lengths.

The horse looks classy, he tanked through the race and jumped like an old pro. Much harder tests await but he’s clearly very exciting.

There will be no blog update on Saturday as we’re at David Pipe’s watching Ilovemints on the gallops. Minty as we call her hasn’t ran for us yet but showed good bumper form. It will be a good morning with her owners in David’s company.

Speaking of bumpers, I here Hidden Glen is smart. He runs today in the 4:45 at Southwell for trainer Ben Pauling.

I’ve no idea if the horse is fit or not but I’m told he’s held in very high regard and connections have high hopes for him. He’s currently priced at 6-4. It will be interesting to see how he goes on. One for the notebook win or lose this afternoon.

The biggest horses in training sale in the world takes place at Newmarket next week. 5 very long days of speaking with connections and vetting horses is on the cards. We’ve been working on the sale for the past month and will hopefully secure a classy recruit. The prices are normally very high at Newmarket so we’ll see what happens.

I did buy a horse privately yesterday for the Spring / Summer next year. 84 rated on the flat, he'll go jumping. We also have our book 1 filly secured. We’ll see what happens next week, I’ll then get all the info out.
