The racing from Punchestown so far has been nothing short of spectacular. We’ve had the Elliott & Mullins trainers championship battle that Mr Mullins will surely win now. Willie seems to be running everything in the yard, the pet cat must be getting worried!

Paul Townsend on Al Boum Photo, and that final fence mishap. Who knows what the next three days will bring?

Today at Punchestown, it will be interesting to see how Faugheen runs over 3 miles for the first time. This looks like another Willie Mullins race, he runs 8 of the 12 runners in the Champion Stayers at 5:30. With 275,000 Euro up for grabs, the trainers title could be done and dusted come this evening.

Later in the day, Footpad will bid to follow up his Cheltenham Festival success in the Ryanair Chase at 6:40. With just the 7 runners there isn’t any EW value.

The going change from good to firm to soft messed up any chance Bishop Of Bling had at Ludlow on Tuesday. The rain never stopped all day long, I hoped the bad weather was behind us but seemingly not.
