Our trip to Catterick yesterday with Trigger Nichol didn’t go as hoped. Trigger Nichol picked up a small injury in the first minute of the race. The knock should only keep him out for a few weeks.

Good racing today but I’ve not had chance to go through it.

The Betfair Chase at Haydock looks a cracker. Bristol De Mai is un-beaten around this venue and looks the safe favourite. However, Cue Card with Harry Cobden riding for the first time would be very hard to beat if he puts in a clear round.

It will be a watching brief for me. I hope both horses run to their peak.
