I’ve not had much time to look at today’s racing in depth, at first glance I thought Verne Castle should go close in the 4:20 at Lingfield. A very good 3rd in a listed race last time out sets a high standard, a repeat of that effort makes him the one to beat.

We purchased a new horse on Thursday at the Ascot sales, I travelled to Ascot for one horse that I tried to buy privately last year. I was delighted to secure Audacious Plan for just £8500 and was prepared to pay a good bit more.

Tony as we’ve called him due to his initials of AP was a 130-rated chaser not long ago and ran at the Cheltenham Festival. He was a fantastic 2nd at the Punchestown Festival in a 3m6 chase on bottomless ground and just missed out in a £50k race also at Cheltenham.

I love his profile and were very confident we can get him back to his best. Audacious Plan is already turned out in the field and will have good break. He’s a stunning looking horse by Old Vic and will be a Saturday type if we can turn him around as we did with West Of The Edge.

More details will follow, please get in touch if you interested.
