Not much went right for West Of The Edge yesterday, the going dried out to near good ground, two fences were taken out due to the low sun so 4 less jumped. This resulted in a fair section of the race turning into a flat affair and WOTE in top gear from the word go. He was using himself up from the off just to keep in contention and had nothing left for the finish. We didn’t find out if he stayed or not. The ideal race for him was the Eider Chase today but we missed out on getting a run by 5.

Speaking of the Eider Chase, it’s going to be a real war, the ground will be bottomless and I dare say not many will finish the race. Proven stamina must be the way to go in a bid to finding the winner. Shotgun Paddy & Mountainous would be my two against the field.

I’m keen to see how Evening Hush gets on in the 1:50 at Kempton. I’m sure she wasn’t at her best last time out. On paper Charli Parcs looks a good thing but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Evening Hush out run her odds.
