It was a busy weekend for Value Racing Club, owners of Ebony Express enjoyed their stable morning at Dr Nelwand’s yard whilst the owners of Rhythm Star were in the winners enclosure again at Huntingdon after their mare won very easily, 3 wins from just 4 runs.
Thankfully I made both of the above and did the 110 mile dash to Huntingdon with 15 minutes to spare, before that I watched Ebony Express work and met the new members who were great and understanding that I had to leave a little early.
Rhythm Star did what we expected at Huntingdon and won un-extended, it’s always a worry going into a race the odds on jolly and a first for the club but the horse didn’t know that and got the job done with little fuss. It wasn’t a great race but Star did everything asked of her and put the race to bed in a matter of strides under a lovely ride from Conor Shoemark.
Pleasingly Star has come out of the race grand and should be out again in the next three weeks.
Silviniaco Conti made it a hat trick of good news when winning the Betfair Chase for readers of this page at 4-1, the horse needed the run in the Charlie Hall but made no mistake this time and the cheekpieces looked to help him go through with his effort.
