It was good to see Lady Buttons get her hurdle career off to the perfect start when winning at Worcester on Wednesday, the Philip Kirby trained mare looked well above average earlier in the year and she’s clearly done well over the summer.

Adam Nicol gave Lady Buttons a forceful front running ride and quickly went 6 lengths clear, given a breather at halfway she had to battle with Hurricane’s Girl but was always doing enough in front. Lady Buttons should take high rank in the mare’s division this season especially when stepped up in trip.

Monbeg Theatre ran a lovely race yesterday on hurdles debut for our syndicate trainer Jamie Snowden, the horse has always been well thought of whilst showed smart bumper form earlier in the year. Monbeg Theatre will improve for his 2nd placed effort at Southwell and will have no problem winning a novice hurdle in the coming weeks before going on to better things.

The jump racing steps up a gear this weekend with Aintree holding a two day meeting plus Chepstow has some decent action tomorrow.
