A good start for us at York, all three horses given a positive mention yesterday were winning bets. Ulysses was the highlight winning the big race of the day at 4-1. Given a peach of a ride by Jim Crowley, Ulysses travelled like a dream and looked the winner from some way out. He’s turned into a real money spinner for and always seems underestimated for some reason.

Cracksman although short in the betting was like buying money whilst Lansky was 3rd EW at 8-1.

I’ve been waiting for Victory Bond to drop back in trip and run over a mile again. This happens today “3:00” but the draw possibly hasn’t been kind. Stall 15 of 20 is a worry and it might turn into mission impossible. I don’t really know to be honest.

If the draw is ok, Victory Bond can go close in a big race like this. A mile at York will be perfect whilst cut in the ground is no bother. 9-1 with 5 places on offer with a few bookies is worth an EW bet.

The only other horse I’ve backed today is Madeline in the Lowther stakes at 2:25. Madeline effort at Royal Ascot can be up-graded. She hit the front too early on her side but had no choice as nothing took her into the race. If she was drawn on the far side, I’m sure Madeline would have won.

Madeline won next time when taking a Listed race at Newbury, she was well on top at the finish. It will take another step forward this afternoon but I think she can. Odds of 7-2 look ok, EW is an option.
