The flat is back, the Doncaster Lincoln meeting kicks off the season. Hopefully, this means warmer weather and lighter evenings on the horizon.

The Lincoln isn’t an easy race to find the winner of. For what it's worth, Addeybb would be my pick EW at 13-2. He shouldn’t lack for fitness and handles cut in the ground. William Haggas always has one ready for this race.

I’ve placed one decent bet this afternoon at Doncaster. Zabeel Prince, in the 3:00 priced at 7-4.

Zabeel Prince comes with encouraging gallop reports, I’m told the horse has been working very well and runs with plenty of  yard confidence. Conditions will be fine and a big effort is expected.

Tabarrak looks the chief danger, Richard Hannon won this race last year. Tabarrak is untested on slower going but holds strong form. Fitness must be taken on trust with Zabeel Prince especially when the going is soft. Trainers can only do so much at home. It wouldn’t be totally surprising to see one of the proven race fit horses go well at big odds. Touch wood, Zabeel Prince class, get's him through.
