Silviniaco Conti booked his place in the Grand National following his emphatic Victory at the weekend. It was great to see him bounce back to form after some health issues. Trainer Paul Nicholls informed after the race he won’t go to Cheltenham nor bid to win the Bowl for the 3rd time at Aintree. Connections are going for the big one and why not after this effort. I’m not sure he’ll stay the marathon trip but Silviniaco Conti will certainly be the classiest horse in the race.

Some good racing on offer this afternoon, Doncaster has a decent card but Ludlow has unfortunately been abandoned due to frost.

At Kempton this evening I thought Mystic Blaze “6:10” priced at 6-4 sets a fair standard to aim at in this maiden stakes. The race doesn’t look full of depth and it’s hard to see many of these running to mark of 75. Mystic Blaze clearly isn’t one of the yards stars plus was beaten at odds on last time, however he still should go close this evening providing the un-raced horses aren’t anything decent.
