A quite week so far with not a great deal happening, however the racing steps up a gear next week with the excellent Galway Festival and Glorious Goodwood taking place.

Our unbeaten mare Rhythm Star has settled back into training well after a lovely summer holiday, Star’s doing road work at the moment but shouldn’t be long until seen back on the Lambourn Gallops, the plan is to have her ready at some point in September.

I made a note of Jonny Rae after its debut run at Newbury in May, the Andrew Balding trained runner finished 6^th but was only beaten just over a length and didn’t have a clear run, another few strides would have gone very close indeed.

Unfortunately is seems the effort went into a few peoples notebooks, I was hoping Jonny Rae would be a decent price when he lined up next time but today’s odds of 3-1 doesn’t look great value in a very open race whilst stall 16 is not great.

I’m hopeful the horse will go well but it will likely be a watching brief for me unless the horse looks standout in the parade ring, 3:00 Lingfield.
