Trainer Richard Fahey cleaned up at the weekend with a fabulous 4 timer that included winning the Ayr Gold & Silver cups with Don’t Touch & Tatlisu. The big race wins ensured Mr Fahey passed the £3m prize money for the first time, a red letter day for all involved.

My fancy for the Silver Cup Johara ran no race at all and was beat after 100 yards. We ended up having the worst of the draw in stall 25 but that made no difference. It’s possible the filly bounced but I would say that’s open to opinion as she could hardly break into a gallop. I do hope she’s ok and what ailed her can be found / fixed.

The jumps season is starting to get going with plenty of stable days taking place up and down the country. The members of Rhythm Star & Kenobe Star enjoyed their trip to Jamie Snowden’s yard and watched horses work on the stunning Lambourn gallops.

This time next month it will be all systems go.
