I wrote on Saturday that it would be hard to top the 25-1 winner we had on Friday. However.
Just the one selection was posted Lucky Jim EW at 6-1, the horse landed a monster gamble when getting up close home under George Baker returning the clear 2-1 favourite.
In some ways I’m more pleased with this winner than Accipiter as I’d mentioned Lucky Jim a couple of times before and informed stick with the horse. I was confident Lucky Jim had more ability then shown so far, things hadn’t gone his way on previous few outings.
It was a cracking few days, 25-1 & 6-1 winners back to back doesn’t happen very often, many thanks for the emails and texts, it seems a lot of people cleared £1000 pounds whilst at least 3 Value Racing Club members cleared £2000 and paid for shares in our new horse Dino Mite already.
Fair play to trainer Chris Wall, the yard are in fantastic form and never seem to have a bad spell. The Newmarket handler turns over more prize money year in year out than a lot of the bigger Newmarket yards with double the horses, it’s an excellent setup.
Speaking of celebrations it was one of our members 60th birthday this weekend, I won’t mention his name Mr Jacques! A great birthday cake was made, a picture of Gran Maestro with his white sock and blinkers plus jockey colours, a fabulous idea!
