Horse racing is a great leveller; one minute we were celebrating a very impressive debut performance from Milrow, then 48 hours later Gran Maestro is brought down in a horrible pileup at Worcester. Sam Twiston Davies and Gran Maestro had nowhere to go when Twentytwo’s Taken fell right in front of us, two other horses then came down on top of Gran Maestro.

Thankfully apart from being stiff and sore and having nasty gash in his face that required six staples, Granny is ok. The plan with Gran Maestro was to go chasing after this hurdle outing. However, after this incident we’ll have to have a confidence boosting run back over hurdles.
