Testing conditions again today, soft / heavy ground all over. This time last year, we were having a heatwave. It's been incredibly wet.

The Goffs NH sales took place this week, the money spent was incredible. Horses you might think will make 20k, were nearer 50k. It seemed trainers had orders to fill, and it didn't matter what the cost were, get the horse and worry about monies later.

I was under bidder on two horses, but we did come away with Present Value secured for 10k. He looks value and was going to be a proper Saturday horse until falling at Newbury. We'll bid to get his confidence back and if we can, he'll be running in top three mile chase races.

Betting today will be a nightmare on the ground. Aldaary at even money, 2:50 Goodwood could be the safe way to play things. However, I can't back anything with confidence on such ground conditions we have at the moment.
