A busy day ahead, Competition makes his seasonal debut in the valuable Class 2 hurdle race at Warwick this afternoon. It’s also the first day of the Goffs horses in training sales at Doncaster.

We’ve been working on the sale constant for the past three weeks, we’re having two horses vetted today and hopefully one of these will fall within budget. We also managed to secure one privately.

The horse in question is a 4yo that’s beautifully bred and already holds excellent form in Ireland. He’s going to be a smart horse for the winter and should develop into a well above average prospect over middle distance trips.

It’s a tough starting point for Competition, up against race fit horses whilst this would be the best race Compo has ever run in. You have to start somewhere though, and excellent prize money is on offer.
