We have a runner at Newbury this afternoon, Mountain Rescue makes his seasonal debut in the valuable Spring Cup at 3:40.

Great to have Mountain Rescue back up and running after his Winter break, the horse has been fantastic for us since we purchased him. MR is now rated 89 and will get in these big Saturday races, this will be the first of many grand days out for his owners this year.

Mountain Rescue has wintered well and seems in good form at home, this is a lovely starting point.

We’re up against race fit horses this afternoon whilst this is a big step up in class. However, this is the type of race Mountain Rescue can run well in when condtions are in his favour, today's going could be a bit lively. The excellent Harry Bentley takes the ride and we'll see how we go.

Another nice winner highlighted on here on Wednesday, Ejaaby was backed in from 13-8 and returned the 11-10 favourite, winning with plenty in hand.

John Gosden has his horses in cracking form and he looks to have more excellent chances at Newbury. Dabyah in the 2:30 could take some stopping and Dhalam in the 4:45, I hear the Queens horse Musical Terms is smart in the same race.

Staying at Newbury Uae King who is by Frankel has apparently improved a good deal through the Winter and should be seen to better effect at some point this season if not today in the 5:20.
