It’s a fantastic day of jumps racing this afternoon and difficult choosing a starting point, however our own horse Rhythm Star runs in the 12:00 at Huntingdon. It’s going to be a dash for me as I’m with the owners of Ebony Express at Dr Newlands yard from 8:30am. We always ensure members get to meet the trainer and watch their horse work before he / she hits the track, touch wood the weather is kind but either way it will be a great morning.

The going will be horrible at Huntingdon and the race distance of two miles four will ride further and take some getting, however it looks a fair opportunity for Rhythm Star is she can handle the ground and stay the trip. Cabaret Gril is the one to beat.

At Haydock The New One should take a huge amount of beating on route towards the Champion Hurdle, Melodic Rendezvous is the chief danger. It’s a shame we have a 2-5 odds on shot that should take the huge £61,900 prize in a cantor but if trainers don't enter their best horses owners can't benefit form the big prize money.

I’ve been waiting for Kingsmere to run over 3 miles and he does so today in the 2:25 Haydock. Unfortunately connections couldn’t have picked a harder race whilst the going is worry for the horse, prefers decent surface. Priced at 40-1 he might just outrun his odds but I dare say will be another day in the coming weeks for this one.

I was very keen on Silviniaco Conti a few weeks ago in the Charlie Hall Chase, the horse was clearly not fit though despite the trip being much shorter than it should have been. I’m not sure if this is prep towards the King George but if fit and ready I would hope the Paul Nicholls trained horse would go much better whilst cheekpieces go on for the first time. Cue Card is the obvious danger but I was a little disappointed by his comeback run so will stick with Silviniaco Conti, 4-1 EW looks fair.

Although is a great day of racing the soft / heavy ground is a good leveller and winners could be hard to find, good luck!
