We were pleased with Greyed A debut for us at Worcester on Wednesday, the horse was green as grass and very fresh. Greyed A never settled from arriving at the racecourse and pulled like a train during the race. His jumping was very good but he’s a horse that’s still learning and will likely need a further 3 or 4 runs until the penny drops.

The first Cheltenham meeting of the season takes place today and tomorrow, for me this fixture signals the start of the National Hunt Season. It’s early days to work out how far forward each yard is but you could do worse than follow Paul Nicholls blind at the moment. He’s sent out 17 winners in the last 14 days and is already in flying form.

It will likely be a foolish mistake but I was quite taken by Wishfull Dreaming win at Chepstow the other day. Trained by Philip Hobbs, this brother to the top class Wishfull Thinking looked useful although he didn’t likely beat much. Wishfull Dreaming takes his chance in the lucky last at 5:40, it will be interesting to see how he gets on.

I’ve had one bet but the price isn’t great I’m afraid, Swiftsure in the 2:25 at Doncaster. I’m hearing the Sir Michael Stoute runner has improved plenty for his debut and is fancied by connections this afternoon. 11-8 is the price of him now.
