Plenty of racing this afternoon with six UK fixtures and the Irish Guineas meeting taking place over the water.
I’ve had two small bets on what looks a tricky day to find winners. The dogs are barking about the Hugo Palmer newcomer Evergate "15-8" in the 1:50 at Newmarket. This colt by Exceed And Excel has been seen doing some lovely work on the gallops and is apparently well regarded. This was also confirmed in a recent stable interview with his trainer.
Evergate will have to be smart if he’s going to turn over Deningy. Deningy was purchased by Godolphin after finishing 2nd at Ascot. This race could be well above average and is worth noting for future winners.
Fort Bastion is ready to win for David O’Meara “2:05 York” although I’ve been waiting for him to win again since this day last year. You can guarantee Fort Bastion will run his normal sound race and I hope jockey Phillip Makin can get him rolling in time. David O’Meara has won this race for the past two years and runs two other horses, hopefully I’ve chosen the correct one. 15-2 EW looks ok.
