The final day of the Cheltenham Festival was excellent, I think we saw the most impressive performance of the week in the Triumph hurdle. Defi Du Seuil trained by Philip Hobbs is a proper horse, he oozed class and could be called the winner from four out. The performance reminded me of Istabraq, the way DDS travelled and jumped was brilliant.
I really hope connections keep DDS to hurdles but think he might be sent over a fence. Defi Du Seuil win, was the icing on the cake from a punting point of view. If Wonderful Charm was given a more forward ride it would have been a brilliant week but I can’t complain. Some nice winners were highlighted on here.
Sizing John won the Gold Cup and proved his stamina for such a trip. Native River was in top gear with a circuit to go and would have likely won if the race was run on bad ground. Native River looks a Grand National winner in the making, he’s needs a proper stamina test.
