A cracking result for us yesterday with Accipiter winning at 25-1 under a peach of a ride from Ashley Morgan.

I thought we had a big chance soon as the stalls opened as Accipiter jumped out like a scolded cat. Due to the quick break Ashley was able to track across from the his low draw and run on the best ground stands side.

From then on it was all fairly simple, Accipiter had everything in trouble with the pace she can travel at and really stuck her head out towards the finish, It was a lovely bet landed, backing 25-1 winners happens a few times each year if that. I was pleased to read the jockeys quote after the race, pretty much the same as my analysis and thoughts.

QUOTES Ashley Morgan, rider of Accipiter: She´s had excuses the previous times she´s run in Pattern company; either it was 6f or the ground came up soft. She´s a 5f fast-ground filly.

Whatever we go for today it’s not going to top the result of Accipiter whilst I’m keen not to give anything back. Ayr looks very tough this afternoon with huge fields and a big stands side draw bias. I’m giving the meeting a swerve.

Not interested in Newbury as the going is soft, and nothing stands out at Newmarket. I do like one horse running at Wolverhampton this evening though.

Lucky Jim is a horse I’ve mentioned before, he’s trained by Chris Wall the same as yesterday’s winner. Lucky Jim lines up in the 7:20 at Wolverhampton priced at 6-1, I’ve backed him EW.

The horse caught the eye a few times this season and maybe has run below expectations for a few reasons, last time out he clearly didn’t stay but travelled well until three out. At Lingfield the time before Lucky Jim was heavily punted and looked the winner on the turn for home but raced lazy when asked for his effort.

A return to the AW and drop in trip looks perfect whilst I like the fact he’s coming here after a 108 day break, connections look to have taken their time with him, I doubt fitness will be an issue.

If the penny has dropped Lucky Jim has shown more than enough ability to go close at this level, hopefully he'll go well at a decent price.
