We have two runners today at the feature jumps fixture of the summer. Our horses run in the two big races at Market Rasen, the Listed Summer Hurdle & the Listed Summer Plate. Having runner’s in each race is fantastic for the owners, it’s also a pretty big achievement for us.

Competition goes first in the 2:10.

Competition got hit hard for a having a very good novice season. His two races so far this season haven’t worked out as Competition needs a very fast pace to aim at. Hopefully we should get that today. Competition would need to find some improvement to get involved but we’ll give it a go and hope to repeat the result of 2015 when we won this race with Gran Maestro

Trigger Nichol bids for the Summer Plate at 3:20.

Trigger Nichol ran a career best when second at Ffos Las just 8 days ago. The handicapper put him up 5lb for finishing second. The trip will be on the sharp side, but we’ll ask Sam to ride handy and bid to use Trigger’s stamina.

If either horse picked up any prize money, that would have resulted in a very good performance.

I’ve not had chance to go through the racing, but The Tin Man must have a favourites chance in the 3:00 at Newbury. This is a big drop in class for the horse.
