We were pleased with Broughtons Admiral who finished 5th on his first start over hurdles earlier this week. Our juvenile hurdler stumbled upon landing at the 2nd and lost a bit of confidence. Sam Twiston Davies gave him a lovely ride and allowed BA to find his feet and didn’t rush him.
Broughtons Admiral finished the race very strongly and would have been 3rd in another few strides. He beat all the other un-raced horses home. He’s a nice horse for the future that will require middle distance trips.
Last week plenty of bets stood out, today I’m struggling to find anything. It’s a wet miserable day and the going is heavy at most meetings.
I’m looking forward to watching Santini again in the 4:05 at Ascot but won’t be playing at odds of 4-5. Santini looked very useful when beating Chef Des Obeaux on debut. That form couldn’t have worked out any stronger. I think Santini could be smart and a top class chaser down the line.
It’s a watching brief for me today.
