Ilovemints ran as we expected yesterday, the aim was to finish the race and she did so jumping 100 times better than Uttoxeter. The going was bottomless and Minty was never going to handle that. The run served a purpose though and we can now push on.

Catterick bound today with West Of The Edge who runs in the 1:50.

This race is very much a second thought. We planned for the Kelso Borders National the other week, but the meeting was lost due to frost. We’ve looked for a further chase but there was nothing suitable for WOTE until next year.

The going is good to soft, West Of The Edge will handle this fine but we could have done with proper soft or heavy ground and more of a stamina test. Catterick is a speedy racecourse, the concern is WOTE might find this trip on the sharp side.

We have to run as West Of The Edge is kicking the stable door down, he’s in good form so we’ll give it a go. Our sponsored jockey Charlie Hammond takes the ride.
