Cornicello was a good winner for his owners at Wincanton on Thursday, Cornicello won nicely by five lengths with Will Featherstone in the saddle. This was Will's first winner under rules.

Wolverhampton tonight with Twistaline, Twisty takes her chance in the last race at 8:30. We’ll need a strong pace to aim at whilst luck from stall 11 of 11 which is bad as it gets. A competitive race, but Twisty seems in good form.

The card at Ascot isn’t a betting one, small fields because of the quick ground.

Anybody having a go at trainers for not running winter horses on quick ground should think about who pays the bills. An inch down, the ground is still like a road as the rain hasn’t got in due to the very dry summer.

Half a tonne of animal landing on firm ground, results in losing the horse through injury for a year or worse. We still have four horses that haven’t been able to run yet because they need proper soft going and not just a bit of give on top.

It’s a long season, taking risks will backfire on many and we won’t be adding to the numbers.
