Aldrin won impressively for his owners at Bangor-On-Dee on Wednesday. Tom Scudamore never moved a muscle on Aldrin who won on the bridle. It was an exciting performance. Aldrin is far from the finished product, he’s still raw and has a lot of growing left in him.

This was our first winner with David Pipe on just our second start. David and his team have done a grand job with Aldrin, hopefully there’s more to come.

Newt also ran on Wednesday, it was her hurdles debut. Newt was extremely green from the word go and freaked when she saw the rubber hurdles. This is something that hadn’t crossed our mind going into the race. Not many racecourses have rubber hurdles, Newt has never seen one whilst I’m not aware of any trainers that use them at home. Sam Twiston Davies did very well to finish the race.

We’re off to Newbury today with Mountain Rescue who runs in the 3:00.

Mountain Rescue won nicely at Newmarket last time out and gave his owners a brilliant night. The handicapper put MR up 8lb for his efforts, he’s now rated 91.

This is a valuable race and will take some winning. It will require a career best from Mountain Rescue but he’s in great form so we’ll see how we get on. The meeting is a sell out with Olly Murs playing after racing. Our race is on ITV4.

With Group races on the card it will be a great meeting to have a runner at.
